Winter of Aespa Diagnosed with Shingles: What This Means for Upcoming Concerts

Winter, a member of the K-pop group aespa, has been diagnosed with shingles and will not perform at the group’s concert in Dallas, USA.

On Wednesday, SM Entertainment, aespa’s management company, released a statement through the group’s official fan communication platform, Weverse. The agency explained that Winter had been experiencing health issues before their Miami show but insisted on performing due to her commitment to the members and fans. However, her condition did not improve after the concert. Following a thorough medical examination in Miami, Winter was diagnosed with shingles, the statement read.

SM Entertainment further elaborated that even after the diagnosis, Winter showed strong determination to continue with the scheduled performances. She did her best to recover right up until the last moment, hoping she could take the stage.

The statement continued that however, medical professionals advised that the artist’s health and full recovery should be the top priority. After careful consideration between the agency and Winter, it regrettably decided that she would not participate in the Dallas concert on Tuesday to allow her to rest and recover.

The agency added that Winter, who was eagerly looking forward to meeting her Dallas fans, is deeply disappointed about missing this concert. She sincerely apologizes to her fans for this unexpected turn of events.

SM Entertainment concluded that it asks for the understanding regarding this sudden announcement. It assures that it will do the utmost to ensure Winter’s swift recovery so she can reunite with her fans soon.

aespa is currently on their fourth world tour, SYNK: HYPERLINE. Following the Dallas show, the group is set to perform in Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, and Vancouver, Canada, starting October 3. The tour is scheduled to resume in January 2024, with stops planned across Europe, including the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
