Nongshim, the South Korean food giant, recently teamed up with Walmart Inc for an exciting promotional event. Last month, Shin Ramyun food trucks rolled into 48 Walmart locations across the U.S., bringing a taste of Korea to American shoppers.

The mobile feast celebrated Shin Ramyun’s 40th anniversary in style, with a fun twist inspired by the Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters. Visitors in Arkansas, California, Florida, and Texas Walmart Inc stores were treated to free samples of the iconic noodles, cool photo ops, and interactive games that blended Korean pop culture with comfort food.

This savvy marketing move is part of Nongshim’s strategy to expand its reach in the U.S. market, leveraging Walmart Inc’s vast retail network to create buzz and win over more American noodle lovers.

The partnership between Nongshim and Walmart Inc has been simmering since 2013 when they inked a direct trade deal. By 2017, Shin Ramyun had achieved a major milestone, becoming the first Korean food product to grace the shelves of every Walmart Inc store nationwide.

A Nongshim spokesperson dished out some insights: It wanted to serve up a fresh K-ramen experience to American consumers, blending Shin Ramyun’s global appeal with the buzz around KPop Demon Hunters. It’s committed to spicing up the presence in the U.S. market and cementing Shin Ramyun’s spot as America’s go-to Korean noodle.
