Badminton sensation An Se-young (Samsung Life) is gearing up for her 11th title of the season in front of her home crowd. Despite concerns about physical fatigue and potential injuries, she’s decided to compete in the Korea Open. However, she’ll skip the upcoming Kumamoto Masters in Japan to focus on recovery.

An Se-young will showcase her skills at the 2026 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Korea Open (Super 500), scheduled from November 3 to 8 at the Jin Nam Gymnasium in Yeosu, South Korea.

The Korea Badminton Association confirmed her participation on November 1 via social media, urging fans: Don’t miss this chance to see the badminton queen, An Se-young, in action! Come join us in Yeosu.

Her decision to compete is particularly noteworthy given her recent grueling schedule.

Fresh off her gold medal win in women’s singles at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, An Se-young immediately jetted to Europe, where she clinched back-to-back titles at the Denmark Open and France Open.

While these victories boosted her season tally to an impressive 10 titles, the non-stop action has undoubtedly taken a toll on her physically.

Injury concerns have also surfaced.

An Se-young reported right foot pain during the Denmark Open final and played the France Open final with her right knee and calf taped.

Following the France Open, she hinted at needing time to regroup, casting doubt on her Korea Open participation.

After careful deliberation, An Se-young chose to compete for her home fans. However, she’s opted out of the Kumamoto Masters (Super 500) in Japan, scheduled for November 10-15.

A win at the Korea Open would mark An Se-young’s 11th title this season, matching her impressive single-season record from last year.

After her title hunt in Yeosu, backed by enthusiastic home support, An Se-young is expected to take a well-deserved break before gearing up for the BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, this December.
