With the “Day of Victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War,” North Korea’s national holiday, approaching on the 27th, the country is intensifying its ideological education efforts among its citizens.

The North Korean official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported today that various exhibitions and competitions held at Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill and Kim Man Yoo Hospital had inspired participants with the indomitable spirit of the People’s Army soldiers who fought through barrages to claim victory.

Moreover, the trade union committees in Moranbong and Seosung Districts visited the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery. The Workers’ Union Organization of the Pyongyang City Sports Bureau also held a meeting to share recollections of the war veterans. The Workers’ Union Organizations of the SunGyo Textile Factory and Nungna Island Trade Bureau also disseminated poems and songs such as ” For My One and Only Motherland,” “Three Years of War,” and “Victory Passed Down from Generations” among their employees.

As one of the most important national holidays nears, workers nationwide organize various events to promote their regime and strengthen their ideology. This appears to also aim to create economic achievements through unity.

The Rodong Sinmun article “Vigorously Promoting Ideological Work” highlighted that workers are making labor achievements by pouring out their mental strength, sharing examples of the Party Committees’ work nationwide. The Party Committee of the Nangwon Machinery Enterprise has focused on self-reliance education, resulting in innovation in target equipment production. Similarly, the Party Committee of Pungjeong-ri, Jungsan County, has motivated agricultural workers through educational work using visual propaganda.

This heightened focus on ideological education is expected to peak on the upcoming Victory Day and continue to create economic achievements in the second half of the year.
