North Korea’s Disturbing New Strategy: Are They Waging War with Sound?

0

Recent reports indicate that North Korea has been conducting noise attacks toward South Korea in border areas. It is noteworthy whether North Korea started a new type of provocation after the garbage balloon launches toward South Korea.

Military sources reveal that North Korea has been using loudspeakers to broadcast unsettling noises, resembling metal grinding, towards South Korea, particularly in the Incheon border region.

This activity began at the end of July and has intensified over the past week, according to reports. Residents in the area have been suffering from extreme stress due to the continuous noise, prompting them to demand protective measures from local authorities.

Since July, North Korea has been emitting noises like crackling through loudspeakers on a daily basis, frequently changing locations. Initially, it was thought that these sounds were intended to drown out South Korean loudspeaker broadcasts directed at the North.

However, with the increasing volume and changing nature of the noise, there are growing concerns that this might be a deliberate noise attack rather than just a countermeasure.

The South Korean military is aware of the situation and is currently analyzing North Korea’s intentions, whether they involve canceling or attacking, according to sources from the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
