North Korea has intensified its hostility towards the United States as Victory Day (July 27, the anniversary of the armistice agreement) approaches.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published a front-page article on Thursday titled “The Victory Tradition of July 27 is the Cornerstone of Our Republic’s Strength.” The article claimed that the North Korean people possess a victorious tradition that has driven the world’s most powerful imperialist force, the United States, to the brink of collapse, inflicting only defeat upon it.

The newspaper asserted that the North Korean people can embody revolutionary strategic optimism, ensuring victory and a bright future despite any hardships, thanks to the wise leadership of their great leader. It also encouraged loyalty to General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

On the same page, the newspaper reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit North Korea from July 11 to 13.

Page 2 featured news about employees at the Pyongyang Children’s Department Store donating indoor playground equipment and gifts to the store. The article highlighted Kim Jong Un’s guidance on shoe labeling practices, emphasizing the regime’s focus on future generations. The 16th Pyongyang Department Store No. 1 Product Exhibition showcased items from local industrial factories, drawing public interest.

Page 3 reported on an expanded meeting of the provincial and central party committees held from July 3 to 9. Members and candidate members of the Youth Alliance Central Committee participated, with youth alliance officials from various levels in attendance as observers.

Page 4 emphasized the importance of minimizing crop damage due to high temperatures. Agricultural officials and workers were advised to ensure that crops grow well without any damage, regardless of adverse weather conditions, by adhering to scientific and technical guidelines.

Page 5 promoted the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area, describing it as a perfect blend of modern architecture and coastal scenery, praising its artistic compatibility and connectivity.

Page 6 covered an event called “Our Ethnic Platform 2025” held by Koreans in Japan on Sunday in Hiroshima Prefecture. The event featured congratulatory messages from North Korea and videos honoring the founders of Chongryon (the Association of Korean Residents in Japan). The 29th regular general meeting of Cheongsanghoe (the Youth Chamber of Commerce of Koreans in Japan) took place on July 5 in Hiroshima Prefecture.
