North Korea showcased key buildings along the banks of the Taedong River, praising the leadership of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Monday that the Taedong River, long renowned for its stunning scenery, now boasts an array of major cultural landmarks along both banks. These structures create a unique artistic harmony and connectivity, firmly establishing the river as a source of pride for the nation and a landmark of Pyongyang.

The newspaper recounted that over a decade ago in June, during his visit to Ssuk Island, Kim expressed his satisfaction. He stated that the Sci-Tech Complex under construction on the island would serve as another springboard for North Korea to surpass the rest of the world, adding that the mere thought of it fills him with joy.

The front page highlighted striking contrasts in the average production growth rates and net income increases among local industrial factories across 20 cities and counties. Notably, food factories in Jaeryeong and Changpung counties achieved production growth rates of 576.5% and 375.8%, respectively, while daily necessities factories in Icheon and Dongshin counties saw net income increases of 740.8% and 618.5%.

Page 3 reported that the musical dance performance “Our Father” continues to be staged daily at the North Pyongan Grand Theater. The paper also noted that the North Korean embassy in Russia held a celebratory banquet on August 14 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation.

An article on page 4, titled, Activating Potential is the Driving Force for Progress, emphasized that unlocking the inherent potential within each unit through dedicated effort is crucial for genuine advancement. The director of the Industrial Technology Research Institute at the Pyongyang Construction Machinery Factory pledged that it will further perfect the production process of domestically manufactured components to present our creations as a proud testament to their dedicated efforts at the Party’s 9th Congress.

Page 5 reported that researchers from the Nampo City Science and Technology Committee developed a highly effective broad-spectrum insecticide to combat forest pests. The newspaper promoted the insecticide as environmentally friendly and economically beneficial, highlighting its domestic sourcing and its ability to effectively control major forest pests without harming the ecosystem.

On page 6, the paper announced ongoing research projects aimed at incorporating medicinal herbs into daily diets. Additionally, an article titled, The Culprit Behind Peace Destruction and the Arms Race, accused the U.S. of exacerbating security concerns in Europe, asserting that it is crystal clear who is responsible for creating this danger in the realm of international strategic security.
