High-ranking officials from North Korea and Russia responsible for military political ideology met in Pyongyang to bolster cooperation.

The Rodong Sinmun, North Korea’s state-run newspaper, reported on November 7 that Defense Minister No Kwang-chol held talks with Viktor Goremykin, Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces, the previous day. The meeting was also attended by Pak Yong-il, Deputy Director of the Korean People’s Army General Political Bureau, and members of the Russian Embassy’s military attaché office in North Korea.

As the five-year economic and defense plan nears its conclusion, the front page urged citizens to maintain their heightened enthusiasm, aiming to make this year remarkable with proud achievements and advance to a higher stage of development. The paper emphasized the slogan, Let’s rise to implement party policies with unwavering determination, calling for it to be held high as a banner of struggle and progress.

The third page underscored loyalty to the leadership, describing it as the foundation for party members to live as dignified representatives of the party and a crucial guarantee of success. The newspaper stressed that loyalty to the leadership is a prerequisite for living up to the standards of a Workers’ Party member.

Page 4 highlighted Chongju City’s achievements, reporting its recognition as one of the Top 10 Best Agricultural Counties of 2024. The paper lauded Chongju City for its national leadership in livestock farming and its exemplary implementation of the party’s childcare and education policies.

The fifth page emphasized the importance of frugality among citizens. As the nationwide push to successfully complete the five-year plan intensifies, the newspaper stressed that workers must prioritize and take responsibility for organizing and executing energy conservation efforts.

The sixth page featured a travelogue about Songwon County. The article claimed that even in this remote and challenging region, the warm embrace of the party’s policies was evident, deeply moving the writers during their recent visit.
