
North Korea has proclaimed this year as a historic turning point and a year of completion, showcasing various achievements in people’s livelihoods and the economy under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party.
On Wednesday, the party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, featured a front-page article titled, 2025, May it Forever Commemorate the Journey of Great Dedication. The article declared that this year will be a tumultuous one, bookended by completions, and should be called a year of completion as it marks many historic milestones unprecedented in the nation’s history.
The report emphasized that Kim has personally inspected construction sites across the country, demonstrating his deep concern for the people’s well-being.
On the second page, the newspaper published an article titled, Under the Great Party’s Leadership, the Goals for the Second Year of the New Era’s Local Development Policy Have Been Brilliantly Achieved. It proudly highlighted 28 construction accomplishments, including hospitals in Kangdong County, Kusong City, and Ryonggang County, as well as local industrial factories and comprehensive service centers nationwide.
The third page reported that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, sent New Year’s greetings to General Secretary Kim. They extended wishes for his health in the new year and the advancement of bilateral relations.
The fourth page covered recent housewarming events at the Wolji Farm in Anak County and the Churung Farm in Samchon County. The newspaper emphasized that the continuous housewarming celebrations throughout the year are a testament to the tireless efforts and dedication of the beloved Kim to provide our agricultural workers with more prosperous and civilized living conditions, underscoring Kim’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
The fifth page reported that conveyor belt construction projects at several coal mines in the western region were successfully completed this year. The newspaper noted that the Ministry of Coal Industry is focusing on enhancing the transportation capacity of the mines, projecting increased coal production for the coming year.
The sixth page featured an article titled, What Does This Year’s Middle Eastern Crisis Reveal? The newspaper stated that as demands for resolution rise in the international community, Israel’s actions have become increasingly provocative. It continued to criticize Israel, asserting that the tragic events in the Middle East clearly demonstrate that the only way to safeguard national interests and dignity is to strengthen one’s own power exponentially, thereby underscoring the importance of self-reliance.
