The joint military-police task force investigating the North Korean drone incursion has launched a wide-ranging search and seizure operation targeting the Military Intelligence Command and the National Intelligence Service, among other agencies.

On Tuesday, the task force announced that they began executing search warrants at 18 locations, including the Military Intelligence Command and National Intelligence Service, starting around 9:00 a.m. (South Korean time) that day.

The task force is also investigating three civilians who allegedly launched drones toward North Korea from the border area. In addition to violations of aviation safety laws, they are now facing charges of general espionage under the criminal code.

Three active-duty military personnel and one National Intelligence Service employee suspected of involvement in these activities are also under investigation.

A spokesperson for the task force stated that they intend to thoroughly uncover the truth behind the drone incident through rigorous analysis of seized materials and a stringent investigation of the suspects.
