Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Kim Jong Un on his reappointment as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and emphasized the strengthening of North Korea-Russia relations.

North Korea’s state-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message on Monday to Kim, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

In his message, President Putin stated that he extends his sincere congratulations on his re-election as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

He further noted that the decision by the Supreme People’s Assembly delegates clearly demonstrates unified social support for Kim’s policies aimed at effectively addressing the socio-economic challenges facing North Korea and protecting the country’s sovereignty and legitimate interests on the global stage.

President Putin emphasized that in Russia, it highly values Kim’s direct contribution to strengthening the friendly and allied relations between the two nations, adding that it will continue our close cooperation to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang.

He concluded by stating that this undoubtedly aligns with the fundamental interests of both the peoples. He wishes Kim continued success in the important state activities, as well as good health and prosperity.
