North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui met with a delegation from Russia’s TASS news agency on Tuesday, reaffirming the commitment to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia.
The Rodong Sinmun, North Korea’s state-run newspaper, reported that Choe received a delegation led by Andrey Kondrashov, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TASS, in Pyongyang the previous day. Officials from the Foreign Ministry and the acting ambassador from the Russian embassy in North Korea also attended the meeting.
Choe welcomed the delegation’s visit, while Kondrashov expressed his deep impression of North Korea’s progress and hospitality during their stay.
Kondrashov specifically stated that, in line with the spirit of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between the two nations, they would diligently implement the agreements between their respective national news agencies.
This interaction is seen as a signal that the strengthening ties between North Korea and Russia are expanding into non-military sectors. It is part of the ongoing exchanges following the signing of their treaty, which encompasses cooperation in media and information.
