North Korea continues to promote the ongoing occupancy of Saebyul Street, a housing complex in Pyongyang dedicated to fallen soldiers and their bereaved families from the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, featured a front-page story on Monday highlighting Saebyul Street as a symbol of Pyongyang’s pride. The article described the complex as welcoming new residents into their beloved homes, embraced by the warm blessings of the entire nation. Four accompanying photographs showcased smiling residents in traditional hanbok and modern suits, proudly holding bouquets and occupancy permits as they toured the complex.

Page 2 reported on the Russian TASS news agency delegation’s visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on March 29, following their arrival in North Korea on March 28. The delegation paid their respects before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The third page detailed ongoing local development initiatives led by city and county party committees. The newspaper praised Sukchon County and other regions for conducting monthly Resident Supply Condition Reviews to assess local industrial production and product quality, urging other areas to follow suit.

Page 4 covered a motivational concert by a student brass band at Pyongyang’s Arch of Triumph square, performed for party members and workers following the party’s 9th congress. The newspaper reported enthusiastic applause from citizens during performances of patriotic songs like “Salute to Our National Flag.”

An article titled, Minimizing Crop Damage Due to Drought, appeared on page 5. It described nationwide efforts by vegetable farms to secure nutrients and growth promoters to boost wheat and barley production in response to drought conditions.

The sixth page highlighted the upcoming participation of a Vietnamese art troupe in the April Spring Friendship Art Festival, commemorating Kim Il Sung’s birthday on April 15. The article mentioned that North Korean reporters had visited Hanoi to meet with Vietnamese art organization officials, who expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral exchanges and cooperation through the festival.
