Shares of companies tied to inter-Korean economic cooperation are gaining after reports that U.S. President Donald Trump is pursuing a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

As of 9:32 a.m. on Aug. 19, Indief and Good People, which are considered inter-Korean economic cooperation stocks, were trading at their daily limit-up levels. Ananti was up 10.89%, while Ilsin Stone gained 3.87%.

The Wall Street Journal reported Aug. 18 that Trump is pushing his aides to pursue a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as early as this fall.

Trump has reportedly privately discussed holding an in-person meeting with Kim during his next trip to Asia, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit scheduled to be held in Shenzhen, China, in November.

However, according to the report, formal working-level preparations for the meeting or specific discussions on an agenda have not yet begun.
