The U.S. Army’s 7th Mechanized Corps announced on Monday that it will conduct live-fire exercises for mechanized units from November 19 to 26 across 13 cities and counties in the Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Chungbuk regions.
The exercises will take place on major national and local roads, potentially causing traffic congestion and noise due to the movement of tracked vehicles and military convoys.
To mitigate disruptions to local communities during the training period, the Corps will establish a field control headquarters comprising safety control and civilian liaison teams.
A spokesperson for the 7th Mechanized Corps stated that it kindly requests the public’s understanding and cooperation in avoiding close proximity to military equipment, refraining from overtaking military vehicles, and utilizing alternate routes when possible.
