LG Electronics announced on Tuesday that it has begun supplying its ultra-premium LG Signature 29-inch washer and dryer to Lowe’s, a major American home improvement retailer.
These appliances boast the largest capacity among residential drum washers and dryers in the U.S. market. Catering to American consumers’ preference for high-capacity washing, LG has increased the washer’s capacity by over 10% compared to previous models. At the same time, they’ve reduced the depth to about 31 inches, more than 5% less than earlier versions. This design allows these large-capacity appliances to fit comfortably in the laundry rooms of typical American homes.
The LG Signature line continues to maintain its refined design aesthetic. The front panel emphasizes simplicity, featuring a 7-inch touch LCD screen that controls all functions, including the mini wash, without buttons or dials.
The appliances feature a matte finish for a luxurious aesthetic, while the door’s seamless tempered glass conceals the handle, creating a sleek, cohesive appearance. Consumers can choose between two colors: Brushed Platinum Steel and Brushed Black Steel.
LG has enhanced its core technology with artificial intelligence through its AI Core Tech, offering improved washing and drying performance. The AI DD motor and AI sensor drying features analyze load weight, fabric type, and soil level to optimize wash and dry cycles, minimizing fabric damage. The system also automatically dispenses the appropriate amount of detergent and fabric softener based on the load and soil level.
The appliances integrate with LG’s AI home platform, LG ThinQ. This includes ThinQ UP, which continuously upgrades existing appliances with new AI features, ThinQ Care for easy product status monitoring and management, and Smart Pairing, which allows the washer to communicate usage data to the dryer for seamless operation.
LG Electronics is strengthening its position in the U.S., the world’s largest premium appliance market, leveraging its reputation for reliability and advanced technology. Earlier this year, Consumer Reports ranked LG’s drum washers in the top three spots for Best Large Capacity Washers. As of May, LG also secured the top spot in performance evaluations of eight consumer media in six countries.
LG Electronics plans to expand further its large-capacity laundry appliance lineup in the U.S. LG Electronics’ Vice President for North America, Jung Kyu Hwang, stated that the company aims to reinforce its leadership in the North American laundry appliance market with its ultra-premium washers and dryers, now upgraded to maximum capacity.
