LG Electronics is set to unveil a groundbreaking robotic vacuum cleaner at Innovation For All (IFA) 2025, Europe’s premier home appliance exhibition, in Berlin on September 5. This innovative device features a built-in design that remains concealed when not in use and includes powerful steam functions in both the main unit and its docking station.

The new lineup comprises two models: the built-in Hidden Station and the freestanding Objet Station. The Hidden Station is designed to be installed in the sink backsplash area or other underutilized kitchen spaces, such as behind doors or in corners, so that it effectively disappears from view when not in operation.

This model connects directly to a drainage system for automatic water management, making it ideal for consumers with limited space who have long desired a robotic vacuum cleaner. LG Electronics’ patented technology efficiently expels steam-generated humidity, preventing moisture accumulation in the dust container and other internal components.

The Objet Station sports an elegant table-like design that seamlessly integrates into any room. When not cleaning, the robotic vacuum retreats into the station, maintaining a clutter-free appearance. This versatile unit can be placed in bedrooms, living rooms, or any preferred location, enhancing the overall interior aesthetic.

Both models are pioneering in their incorporation of steam functionality within both the vacuum body and the station, significantly enhancing cleaning performance and hygiene management.

The robotic vacuum generates hot steam in real time, applying it directly to the mopping pad. Steam’s superior thermal energy compared to hot water makes it exceptionally effective at loosening stubborn stains such as dried chocolate, coffee, and greasy kitchen floors.

The station uses steam to sanitize the mopping pad, ensuring optimal hygiene. LG Electronics has integrated a turbidity sensor that measures water contamination during cleaning cycles and automatically adjusts the frequency of pad cleaning. Users can also choose from various cleaning options based on contamination levels, including cold water, warm water, or steam.

LG Electronics’ proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) Objet recognition technology enhances the vacuum’s navigation capabilities. Employing AI chips in conjunction with lidar, three-dimensional (3D) cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and bumpers, the device accurately maps its environment and navigates obstacles while cleaning.

The new model also features voice recognition technology, responding to commands such as Start Cleaning and Stop even without an internet connection.

Additionally, LG Electronics plans to showcase other vacuum innovations at IFA this year, including a high-powered suction-only model and a versatile Wet & Dry cordless stick vacuum capable of handling dust, liquids, and mopping simultaneously.

Kwak Do-young, Vice President of LG Electronics’ Living Solutions Business Division, stated that its latest designs incorporate customer feedback and deliver enhanced cleaning performance, offering a truly differentiated experience in the global market.
