SK Telecom announced on Wednesday that it has integrated its vehicle AI agent, A.Dot Auto, into Renault Korea’s latest model, the Filante.

The company highlighted A.Dot Auto’s evolution from a simple command executor to an intelligent AI assistant that comprehensively analyzes driving patterns and road conditions. This advanced AI is seamlessly incorporated into the vehicle’s infotainment system (IVI), allowing drivers to harness its capabilities without additional operational complexity while on the road.

A.Dot Auto offers voice control for a wide range of infotainment services, including phone calls, navigation, and music playback. It also manages climate control and window operations. Powered by A.Dot X 4.0, a large language model specifically tailored for Korean, the system enables drivers to control various functions and engage in natural conversations hands-free.

The AI’s contextual awareness shines through in practical applications. For instance, it learns a driver’s regular commute and proactively suggests the office as the destination during typical work hours. In scenarios where air quality is poor and windows are open, it recommends closing them, demonstrating its ability to provide situationally relevant assistance.

Looking ahead, SK Telecom intends to expand A.Dot Auto’s availability to other automotive brands.

Kim Ji Hoon, who leads the A.Dot division at SK Telecom said the launch of A.Dot Auto represents an important milestone in integrating artificial intelligence into vehicles. He added that the company’s vision goes beyond automotive applications, with plans to position A.Dot as Korea’s leading AI platform by providing a wide range of agent-based functions across multiple platforms.
