SKC announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary, SK Nexilis, will participate in InterBattery 2026, a three-day event starting on March 11 at Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
SK Nexilis plans to showcase its next-generation copper foil technology and product lineup under the theme, A Technological Hub Connecting Future Products and Infrastructure.
The company will display ultra-wide copper foil in roll form, measuring just 4 micrometers thick—about one-thirtieth the width of a human hair—1400 mm (about 55 inches) wide, and 5 km long (about 16,404 feet). The ability to produce such wide and long copper foil is a key competitive advantage, significantly enhancing battery manufacturers’ productivity.
SK Nexilis will also introduce a range of flagship products, including standard copper foil for secondary batteries, high-strength products, and high-elasticity materials crucial for next-generation cylindrical batteries.
The exhibition will feature products linked to future technologies, showcasing the company’s latest research and development (R&D) achievements. These include high-adhesion copper foil designed for next-generation battery manufacturing technologies such as dry processes, and corrosion-resistant current collectors for all-solid-state batteries, which offer superior fire safety.
SK Nexilis aims to demonstrate its potential to expand beyond electric vehicle (EV) battery materials into next-generation applications for energy storage systems (ESS), drones, defense, robotics, and aerospace industries.
An SK Nexilis spokesperson stated that this exhibition will reinforce the position as a leading innovator in future infrastructure materials, driving mobility innovation beyond conventional battery components. It’ll actively promote the cutting-edge product lineup and technological capabilities to global clients and partners, while seeking opportunities for technological collaboration through tailored solution proposals.
