Naver Cloud is joining forces with Hanmi Global to accelerate its expansion into the overseas data center market, with a focus on Saudi Arabia.

On April 22, Naver Cloud and Hanmi Global inked a strategic partnership agreement to collaborate on large-scale global data center projects.

This alliance aims to leverage the core strengths of both companies, enabling them to jointly tackle data center projects in the Middle East and other international markets while boosting their technological edge on the global stage.

Drawing on its comprehensive expertise in cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) services, Naver Cloud will spearhead the development of infrastructure technology strategies for data center construction. The company will also design business frameworks and service models that align with international standards.

Hanmi Global’s role will encompass data center design and construction consulting, project management for scheduling and budgeting, as well as navigating local permits and business operations in Saudi Arabia.

Naver Cloud has been laying the groundwork for collaboration through its joint venture, Naver Innovation, partnering with the Saudi National Housing Company (NHC). Their focus has been on digital twin technology and the development of a map-based super app, showcasing their commitment to cutting-edge digital and AI services.

Since its foray into the Middle Eastern market in 2007, Hanmi Global has successfully executed over 50 projects, solidifying its reputation and operational capabilities in the region.

This data center partnership marks a significant expansion into the infrastructure sector, positioning Naver Cloud as a pivotal player in Saudi Arabia’s long-term digital transformation (DX) journey.

Naver Cloud Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kim Yoo-won commented that Naver Cloud has established a robust operational foundation through local subsidiaries and strategic partnerships with key institutions. Hanmi Global has proven its mettle with numerous successful projects across the Middle East. This collaboration will enable them to effectively meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the Middle East and emerging markets.
