Apple has unveiled invitations for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026), where the company is expected to introduce upgraded artificial intelligence features alongside its next-generation mobile operating systems.

Apple announced Monday that WWDC will take place from June 8 to 12 local time, sharing an invitation featuring the phrase “Glimmering Closer” along with a teaser image of a glowing bird-shaped figure.

More than 1,000 developers, designers, and students are expected to attend a special event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on June 8.

At this year’s WWDC, Apple is widely expected to showcase key features of its next-generation operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.

In particular, Apple is expected to redesign its existing AI assistant Siri into a more advanced AI agent. Rather than simply responding to voice commands, the upgraded Siri is expected to access user data and perform tasks across multiple apps on behalf of users.

Siri is also expected to adopt a conversational interface similar to generative AI services such as ChatGPT and Gemini.

The upgraded assistant may also integrate with the iPhone’s Dynamic Island notification area at the top of the screen. When activated, Siri is expected to appear through a pill-shaped animation and provide results in translucent card-style windows based on user requests.

Apple is also expected to introduce a standalone Siri app. The app will reportedly allow users to continue previous conversations and interact with AI using uploaded images and documents.

New AI-powered visual intelligence features are also expected to be added to the iPhone camera app. Attention is additionally focused on potential user experience changes hinting at Apple’s first foldable device, tentatively referred to as the “iPhone Fold,” including enhanced multitasking capabilities.

Apple said it plans to introduce “incredible updates” across its platforms, including advances in AI, new software, and developer tools.
