Samsung Electronics unveiled four new 2026 Odyssey gaming monitors on Tuesday, including the industry’s first gaming monitor to support 6K ultra-high resolution, as the company steps up efforts to expand its presence in the premium gaming monitor market.
The new lineup includes the 6K-resolution Samsung Odyssey G8 (G80HS), the 5K-resolution Samsung Odyssey G8 (G80HF), the 4K OLED-based Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) and the 4K OLED Samsung Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH).
The standout model is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS), which supports 6K resolution at 6144×3456 pixels. The monitor features a dual-mode system that allows users to switch between a 6K, 165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a 3K, 330Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate mode.
Refresh rate refers to how many frames a display can show per second. Higher refresh rates reduce screen flickering and eye fatigue while improving smoothness during gameplay.
Samsung said the dual-mode feature enables optimized gaming experiences across various genres, from visually detailed action games to fast-paced first-person shooters and racing titles requiring rapid screen transitions.
The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF), released alongside the flagship model, supports 5K resolution with refresh rates up to 180Hz. In QHD mode, the monitor can reach up to 360Hz through dual-mode functionality.
Both models are certified as compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and support AMD FreeSync Premium technology to minimize screen tearing and stuttering.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) will be available in 27-inch and 32-inch versions, supporting 4K resolution and refresh rates up to 240Hz. The monitors incorporate “Glare Free” technology to reduce reflections and use QD-OLED penta tandem technology to improve image quality and energy efficiency.
The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH), another 4K OLED model, supports refresh rates up to 165Hz and can reach up to 330Hz in Full HD mode through dual-mode functionality.
Samsung set the following prices for the new lineup:
-
32-inch 6K Odyssey G8: approximately $1,390
-
27-inch 5K Odyssey G8: approximately $875
-
32-inch Odyssey OLED G8: approximately $1,290
-
27-inch Odyssey OLED G8: approximately $1,145
-
32-inch Odyssey OLED G7: approximately $1,025
Lee Heon, executive vice president of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, said the company aims to establish a new benchmark in the gaming monitor market through innovations in ultra-high-resolution and OLED technology, including 6K displays.
According to market research firm IDC, global gaming monitor shipments reached 31 million units last year, up more than 15% from 2024. Samsung currently ranks No. 1 in the global gaming monitor market for seven consecutive years and No. 1 in the OLED monitor market for three consecutive years.
Samsung said it will also operate Odyssey G8 experience zones at Maple Azit in Gangnam and the T1 Base Camp in Mapo, while offering Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and gaming gear discounts to customers purchasing the new products.
