Samsung Electronics is making a bold move towards AI-driven innovation by fully integrating global generative artificial intelligence (AI) services into its operations.
The company’s Device Experience (DX) division announced on Thursday that starting June 12, employees will have official access to external generative AI services including ChatGPT, Gemini Enterprise, and Claude.
This initiative will allow DX division employees to leverage leading generative AI services from major global tech firms in their daily work.
A key feature of this rollout is the flexibility it offers employees. Rather than relying on a single AI service, staff can select the most suitable AI tool based on their specific task requirements and characteristics. Samsung sees AI not just as a support tool, but as a critical infrastructure to boost overall organizational competitiveness.
Prior to this launch, Samsung conducted extensive testing with over 2,500 employees to evaluate the effectiveness of various generative AI service candidates. This process led to the selection of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude as the final three services to be implemented.
The company aims to use these AI tools to enhance productivity, speed up decision-making processes, and strengthen organizational execution, ultimately driving innovation in work methods.
Noh Tae-moon, President of Samsung’s DX division, emphasized the significance of this move: Introducing external generative AI is more than just providing new work tools. It’s a starting point for fundamentally transforming the work processes and execution speed. It’s creating an environment where every employee can use the most appropriate AI for their tasks, boosting individual productivity and enhancing our overall organizational effectiveness and business competitiveness.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to continually refine its AI services and operational policies to align with specific job roles and organizational needs. The company is gearing up for a comprehensive AI Transformation (AX), aiming to reshape its entire work culture around AI capabilities.
