Krafton’s PUBG: Battlegrounds is gearing up for an exciting collaboration with the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.

The game will roll out Jujutsu Kaisen-themed in-game items and exclusive events through an update scheduled for September 10.

This partnership brings elements from the Jujutsu Kaisen universe to Erangel, PUBG’s iconic map. Players will discover new areas and design features inspired by the anime in select locations across Erangel.

The collaboration goes beyond mere character-themed items. Players will organically encounter collaborative content as they navigate and engage in combat throughout Erangel. This immersive approach was showcased in the main trailer released on Monday.

The update will introduce costumes based on original Jujutsu Kaisen characters and progressive weapon skins.

During the collaboration, players can participate in various in-game events, completing missions to earn exclusive items. These events will run from September 10 to October 14 on personal computer (PC), while console players can join in from September 17 to October 22.

As PUBG celebrates its 9th anniversary this year, it continues to demonstrate its enduring popularity. In March, the game once again surpassed 1.3 million concurrent players, matching its performance from the previous year and maintaining a robust player base.

Leveraging its strong traffic and competitive live service capabilities, Krafton aims to expand collaborations with globally recognized intellectual properties (IPs). The company’s strategy is to offer cultural experiences that transcend gaming while driving buzz and traffic to fuel the growth of the entire PUBG IP franchise.

This approach is designed to reinforce the virtuous cycle of franchise IP growth and sustain double-digit expansion.

A Krafton spokesperson commented that this collaboration not only broadens the play experiences PUBG is known for but also aims to deepen player immersion. It’s committed to delivering PUBG’s unique brand of entertainment through diverse collaborative content.
