Coreline Soft, a medical artificial intelligence (AI) company, has announced the renewal of its contract with the National Cancer Center (INT Milano) in Milan, Italy for the AVIEW LCS Plus system on Wednesday.

This renewal allows Coreline Soft to continue its involvement in the Rete Italiana Screening Polmonare (RISP) project, a pioneering early lung cancer diagnosis program spearheaded by Milan’s National Cancer Center.

RISP is a multi-center network initiative backed by the Italian Ministry of Health, encompassing 18 major hospitals nationwide. This ambitious national program aims to validate the effectiveness of low-dose CT (LDCT) screenings for high-risk individuals. Coreline Soft’s AI solution acts as a crucial operational engine, standardizing the extensive imaging data generated across this network and significantly boosting reading efficiency.

The AVIEW LCS Plus system from Coreline Soft is engineered to detect lung nodules using low-dose CT, while simultaneously analyzing associated risk factors such as emphysema and coronary artery calcification.

In the European healthcare landscape, lung cancer screenings are increasingly being integrated into national healthcare systems. The wealth of operational data amassed through large-scale initiatives like RISP is poised to become a vital reference point for shaping future lung cancer screening policies and healthcare budget allocations across various European nations.

Coreline Soft views this development as more than just securing an international contract. The company emphasizes that repeatedly winning over top-tier national cancer centers in Europe, despite the notoriously high entry barriers in the European public procurement market, is a testament to their superior technological reliability.

The company is steadily expanding its footprint in national screening infrastructures by providing solutions to leading medical institutions, including Germany’s Charité and university hospitals in Heidelberg and Cologne. Furthermore, by securing contracts with the French IMPULSION project and gaining registration with UGAP, Coreline Soft is cementing its position as a supplier that meets rigorous national standards and quality requirements for public hospitals.
