Doosan and NVIDIA Join Forces: How AI, Robotics, and Energy Will Transform Industries by 2026

TechDoosan and NVIDIA Join Forces: How AI, Robotics, and Energy Will Transform Industries by 2026

Doosan Group is joining forces with NVIDIA to expand collaboration in physical artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and AI factory sectors. Physical AI is a technology that enables AI to be applied to actual machines or robots, allowing them to perceive their environment and make autonomous decisions and actions.

Doosan announced on Monday that it will pursue partnerships with NVIDIA across its core businesses, including energy, electronic materials, and robotics. This initiative stems from a meeting between Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won and NVIDIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang the previous day.

The collaboration is rooted in the close alignment between Doosan’s key businesses – such as intelligent robotics, energy solutions, and high-performance electronic materials – and NVIDIA’s AI factory initiatives. The two companies aim to strengthen their partnership by integrating Doosan’s products, technologies, and manufacturing expertise with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and physical AI platforms.

In the energy sector, they will explore power supply solutions and optimization strategies for generation facilities crucial to AI factory construction. This will involve leveraging Doosan Enerbility’s gas turbines, small modular reactors (SMRs), and Doosan Fuel Cell’s hydrogen fuel cells. The partnership will focus on power supply design for AI factories, optimization of generation facilities, and the pursuit of low-carbon energy sources.

For physical AI collaboration, Doosan Robotics will enhance its Agentic Robot Operating System by incorporating NVIDIA’s Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and Cosmos technologies. The companies are also discussing the development of robotic solutions for precise industrial tasks, such as depalletizing and sanding.

Doosan Bobcat plans to develop autonomous equipment for construction, landscaping, agriculture, and logistics by integrating NVIDIA’s physical AI technology.

The partnership extends to the electronic materials sector. Doosan Electronics BG supplies copper-clad laminates (CCL), a critical component for printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in AI accelerators. The two firms are exploring collaboration opportunities in next-generation AI data center infrastructure, including NVIDIA’s MGX platform. CCL plays a crucial role in the high-speed data processing and stability of AI accelerators. To meet growing demand, Doosan is establishing a new production facility in Thailand, aiming for mass production by 2028.

Chairman Park Jung-won stated that they’re continuously advancing technologies essential for the AI era in energy, robotics, and advanced materials. The collaboration with NVIDIA will help them apply AI to our business areas and explore new opportunities.

CEO Jensen Huang remarked that combining NVIDIA’s DSX and physical AI with Doosan’s energy, robotics, and advanced materials businesses will unlock new growth drivers in key areas of the AI era.

The synergy between Doosan’s energy and robotics capabilities and NVIDIA’s AI technology is expected to accelerate their penetration of the AI factory and physical AI markets. In a show of partnership, CEO Huang and Chairman Park met at Seoul’s Jamsil Baseball Stadium, where they participated as the ceremonial first pitcher and batter during a Doosan Bears home game.
