TechNVIDIA's Jensen Huang Announces AI Collaboration with Naver: What It Means for the Future of Robotics and Cloud

On Monday, Jensen Huang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NVIDIA, announced plans to collaborate with Naver in the realms of artificial intelligence (AI) frontier models, AI cloud computing, and robotics.

Huang shared this vision after meeting with Naver’s Chairman, Lee Hae-jin, at the company’s headquarters, 1784, situated in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

Praising Naver, Huang stated that Naver stands among the world’s leading cloud companies. They’ve developed world-class AI and cloud technologies in South Korea, a relatively small country by global standards.

He outlined plans to bolster cooperation with Naver in three key areas: AI frontier models, AI cloud computing, and robotics.

Huang revealed, NVIDIA’s Frontier AI Lab will partner with Naver. Together, as part of the NemoTron Alliance, it’ll develop an open frontier AI model.

Notably, Naver recently became the first South Korean company to join the NVIDIA NemoTron Alliance, which utilizes NVIDIA’s open AI foundation model.

Huang also disclosed plans to build an AI cloud infrastructure in collaboration with Naver.

It’s aiming to establish a 200-megawatt (MW) AI factory, he explained, with the long-term goal of scaling up to a 1-gigawatt (GW) facility.

He continued that Naver already possesses all the essential components – cloud infrastructure, AI-enabled buildings, and data center infrastructure. The partnership will accelerate the development of these technologies.

Reflecting on his visit, Huang remarked that he witnessed a robot delivering iced coffee from upstairs. This epitomizes the future of business. He expressed intentions to collaborate with Naver in robotics technology and manufacturing.

It’s worth noting that Huang’s visit to South Korea began on June 5, during which he held meetings with key figures from major domestic corporations and leaders in the gaming industry.
