Samsung Electronics’ organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions (TVs) have solidified their market dominance, clinching top rankings across major screen sizes in the latest Consumer Reports evaluation, a benchmark for U.S. consumer products.

In a statement released on Thursday, Samsung Electronics revealed that their 77-inch OLED TV model (S95H) scored an impressive 91 points in Consumer Reports’ June TV ratings, securing the top spot among TVs 70 inches and larger. The 55-inch OLED model (S95H) also excelled, earning 90 points and leading the 55-60 inch category.

Consumer Reports’ comprehensive assessment considers various factors, including picture quality, high dynamic range (HDR) performance, viewing angles, sound quality, brand reliability, and data privacy and security features.

The publication lauded the Samsung OLED 77-inch model (S95H) for its picture quality, noting its ability to produce natural and vivid images with meticulous detail and superior color accuracy.

Reviewers were particularly impressed by the TV’s perfect contrast ratio and deep black levels, which create an immersive viewing experience even in dark scenes.

The HDR capabilities and viewing angles also garnered praise. Consumer Reports emphasized the TV’s exceptional maximum brightness, which enhances the realism of 4K content across various viewing environments. They highlighted its near-limitless viewing angles, allowing viewers to enjoy consistent picture quality from any position in the room.

In terms of audio performance, the report ranked it as the best among all tested products to date. It noted the TV’s ability to deliver deep bass and crisp highs across a wide range of content, from movies and music to TV shows.

OLED technology, which allows pixels to emit their own light without requiring a separate backlight, enables the creation of thin and flexible displays. This makes it particularly suitable for high-end devices.

According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung Electronics has seen a significant boost in its global OLED TV market presence. In the first quarter of this year, the company’s sales volume increased by 28.8% compared to the same period last year, capturing a 38.9% market share in terms of revenue.
