BLACKPINK’s Jennie is set to surprise fans with the release of her new solo single, “Less than a Lover.”

On Tuesday, her agency, OA Entertainment, announced through their official social media channels that Jennie will drop the single on July 24 at 1:00 p.m. (Korean time), making it available on major music platforms both domestically and internationally.

The teaser image released alongside the announcement exudes a cinematic atmosphere, capturing Jennie’s anticipation against a backdrop of natural scenery viewed through a truck window, perfectly embodying a romantic summer vibe.

Notably, Jennie was heavily involved in the creative process, from directing the music video to writing lyrics and producing the track, heightening fan expectations.

Jennie previously generated buzz by previewing the song at major festivals, including the Governors Ball Music Festival 2026 in the U.S., Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Open’er Festival in Poland, and Mad Cool Festival 2026 in Spain. The official release was confirmed following an overwhelming demand from global fans.

“Less than a Lover” showcases a captivating sound, blending lo-fi guitar tones and vintage electric keyboards with Jennie’s more mature vocals, creating a laid-back atmosphere.

Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016, releasing chart-topping hits like “Whistle,” “Playing with Fire,” “As If It’s Your Last,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Forever Young,” “Lovesick Girls,” “Shut Down,” and “Pink Venom,” earning worldwide acclaim.
