The group Seventeen’s song “HOT” has hit a major milestone with 300 million streams.
Global audio streaming giant Spotify reported that Seventeen’s title track “HOT” from their fourth studio album Face the Sun surpassed 300 million streams on Tuesday, reaching 300,032,304 plays. This achievement marks Seventeen’s second song to cross the 300 million stream threshold, following their hit “Super.”
“HOT” is a hip-hop banger featuring a distinctive Western guitar sound. The lyrics convey a bold journey of facing the scorching sun head-on, ultimately embodying the resolve to become that radiant force. Since its release, the track has dominated music charts, while the album “Face the Sun” shattered records with over 2.06 million copies sold in its first week. The album also made waves internationally, peaking at No. 7 on Billboard’s main album chart, the Billboard 200.
Seventeen burst onto the K-pop scene in 2015 with “Adore U” and has since won over fans and critics alike with a string of hits including “Mansae,” “Pretty U,” “Very Nice,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “Clap,” “Oh My!,” “Left & Right,” “Rock with You,” “GOD OF VICTORY,” and “MAESTRO.”
The group is currently on a partial hiatus due to South Korea’s mandatory military service. Member Wonwoo is fulfilling his duty as a social service worker, while Hoshi and Woozi are serving in the army. Vernon recently began his basic training, and Dokyeom is set to enlist on September 8. Mingyu will start his social service next month, and Seungkwan is slated to join the military band later this year. Jeonghan became the group’s first member to complete his service in June, while leader S.Coups received an exemption due to a cruciate ligament injury. Joshua, Jun, and The8 are exempt as foreign members.
