On Tuesday, the Blue House addressed President Donald Trump’s claim that South Korea had not contributed to Middle East conflicts, stating that the administration has been in ongoing discussions with the international community, including the U.S., regarding cooperation strategies.

A Blue House official explained that they’re evaluating practical and military contribution options to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, while considering our readiness posture on the Korean Peninsula and domestic legal procedures.

The official further noted that the government is closely monitoring the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, and is actively engaged in international efforts to swiftly normalize global maritime supply chains. This approach aligns with our longstanding policy and is not a new development.

On August 30, President Trump appeared on Fox News’ “Sunday Night in America,” asserting that it spend billions supporting the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and other nations, but receive little help in return, citing South Korea as an example.

Trump emphasized that it assist them. Yet when it’s time for them to reciprocate, he didn’t even press hard. He simply asked, Would you like to participate? and they all responded, No, thank you.

He added that so he thought to himself, he’ll remember that. He further added that when they’re unwilling to step up for you, you can’t just keep helping them like a fool.
