A Twosome Place, a popular Korean café chain, has made its U.S. debut with the grand opening of its first stateside location in Alexandria, Virginia, the company announced on Monday.
The excitement was palpable as eager customers lined up before the 7:00 a.m. opening on October 17, with the buzz continuing until closing time at 8:00 p.m.
Opening day bestsellers included Instagram-worthy treats like the Spoonable Abak, Spoonable Strawberry Chocolate Whipped Cream Cake, Black Sesame Latte, and the ultra-trendy Dalgona Cream Top.
The café’s appeal reached beyond local borders, drawing in curious foodies from as far as New York and Baltimore. Patrons also got to sample unique deli offerings such as the Brioche K Toast and the Seoul Spicy Chicken Panini.
Nestled in the heart of Old Town Alexandria on King Street, this chic new hotspot boasts an impressive menu of over 80 items. From indulgent desserts to artisanal coffees and refreshing beverages, there’s something for every palate. Crowd-pleasers include the Strawberry Chocolate Whipped Cream Cake, Spoonable Abak, Black Sesame Cake, Injeolmi Cake, Misutgaru Frappe, and Bulgogi Bibimbap Balls – a perfect blend of Korean flavors with American café culture.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Moon Young-joo, who was present at the launch, shared the company’s vision: It’s committed to fine-tuning our offerings based on local feedback, aiming to establish A Twosome Place as the go-to premium dessert café for any time of day.
As part of its U.S. expansion strategy, A Twosome Place plans to initially operate its stores directly through a local subsidiary to gain valuable market insights. The company has set its sights on opening at least 10 locations, primarily in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area, with internal discussions considering up to 15 stores in the near future.
