Kylian Mbappé’s move to Spain’s Real Madrid is imminent. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), known for its credibility, has confirmed Mbappé’s entry.
On March 3 (KST), the BBC reported that Mbappé had signed a deal to join Real Madrid as a free agent (FA). His contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is expected to expire at the end of June.
According to the BBC, Mbappé will sign a five-year contract with Real Madrid until 2029, with a salary of about $16.3 million. He is also expected to receive a total contract bonus of about $163 million over five years. The contract also includes options for compensation for some of his image rights.
Mbappé verbally agreed to move to Real Madrid in February and officially announced last month through social media that he would leave PSG after the 2023-24 season.
The BBC reported, “Real Madrid is expected to officially announce a contract with Mbappé next week. A contract ceremony could take place at Santiago Bernabéu (Real Madrid’s home stadium) before Euro 2024 (European Football Championship).” Euro 2024 is expected to begin in Germany on June 14.
Mbappé gained fame as a top striker when he was loaned from AS Monaco to PSG in 2017. During his seven seasons with PSG, he scored 256 goals, making him the club’s all-time top scorer.
He has experienced six Ligue 1 victories, four French Cup wins, and three Super Cup wins. He has been the league’s top scorer for six consecutive years since the 2018-19 season.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is considered one of the most prestigious teams in the Spanish Primera Liga. This season, they also topped the UEFA Champions League (UCL), including the Spanish Primera Liga.
