After a war broke out with Israel last October, resulting in many casualties, Palestine will send six athletes to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Associated Press reported on the 2nd (Korean time), citing a Palestinian Olympic Committee (POC) official, that six Palestinian athletes will compete in various sports at the Paris Olympics. The sports include boxing, judo, swimming, shooting, and taekwondo. Taekwondo athlete Omar Ismail is the only one who secured an Olympic qualification on his own, while the other five athletes obtained their tickets to Paris through universality quotas in each sport, similar to a wildcard.

Palestine sent five athletes to the 2020 Tokyo Games held in 2021, and the size of the team for the upcoming Paris Games has slightly increased.

The deadline for the Paris Olympics athlete registration is July 8 (local time). There is a possibility that a seventh Palestinian athlete may emerge in track and field.

Palestine has participated in the Olympics since the 1996 Atlanta Games but has yet to win a single medal.
