North Korea’s Workers’ Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported yesterday that Kim Jong Un supervised the preparations for constructing a maritime farming business in Sinpo City, South Hamgyong Province.
On the 17th, North Korea celebrated the 12th anniversary of conferring Kim’s title of Head of State. The celebration emphasized “national defense power” and claimed that North Korea’s national power and strategic position had reached an entirely new height.
In an article titled “Burst of Admiration and Fascination of All People—Our Head of State,” Rodong Sinmun praised Kim for developing advanced weapons. The article highlighted his dedication to visiting dangerous weapon test sites in the middle of the night and early morning, which led to the creation of Workers’ Party-style absolute weapons in just a few years.
The term “strategic position of new height” refers to strengthening national defense with nuclear power and expanding diplomatic relations with anti-American alliances, such as signing a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with Russia.
The newspaper stated that North Korea had amassed significant military power to deter potential adversaries from confronting it. It added that in any scenario involving physical confrontation, opponents would find themselves powerless against North Korea’s advanced weaponry.
It also credited that strengthening national defense and self-defense power is not the result of “time, but due to the sacrificial dedication of General Secretary Kim, and demanded loyalty to him. The article declared, “All our people should shine the immortal revolutionary achievements forever.”
The newspaper highlighted that Kim has also implemented policies to improve people’s lives. Despite sanctions, COVID-19, and abnormal weather, there were unprecedented celebrations and increased happiness.
Specific policies included building houses in rural areas and Pyongyang, supplying dairy products for children, providing essential items for student boys, and the Local Development 20X10 Policy.
Kim received the title “Marshal of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” the highest title in North Korea, through a joint decision of the Workers’ Party Central Committee and the Party Central Military Committee, the National Defense Committee, and the Supreme People’s Assembly Standing Committee on July 17, 2012.
