BTS’s “Spring Day” is the first song on Melon to surpass 1 billion streams.

Melon reported that BTS’s title track, “Spring Day,” from their February 13, 2017, album WINGS: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE, has achieved this milestone. This makes “Spring Day” the first song on Melon to reach 1 billion streams.

Moreover, “Spring Day” has maintained a spot on Melon’s daily chart for an impressive 2,738 consecutive days as of yesterday. Earlier this year, it set a record by staying on the daily chart without a single day off for exactly seven years. The song continues to rank, marking over seven and a half years on the chart, setting the longest charting record in Melon’s history. BTS continues to set new records with their achievements.

“Spring Day” is an alternative hip-hop track that combines Brit rock influences with electronic sounds. It delivers a message of hope while waiting to reunite with a distant friend. Its poignant melody and evocative lyrics have struck a chord with many listeners, keeping the song beloved even seven years after its release.

The album WINGS: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE, which includes “Spring Day,” debuted at No.61 on the Billboard 200 chart on March 4, 2017, and stayed on the chart for two weeks. “Spring Day” also made headlines by topping Japan’s Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking on December 12, 2023, further showcasing its lasting appeal.
