North Korea highlighted the reactions of workers and citizens on Monday, the day after reporting the outcomes of its year-end plenary meeting, boosting resolve to implement the ruling Workers’ Party’s decisions.

The state-run newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published an article titled “Nationwide Patriotic Zeal Erupts with Confidence to Forge Ahead Following the Path to Comprehensive Revival and Development Charted by the Great Party Central Committee.” The piece conveyed the reactions of officials and citizens to the expanded 8th Central Committee 11th Plenary Meeting, held from December 23 to 27.

Officials in various sectors, including metals, chemicals, energy, agriculture, local development, and education, expressed praise for the leadership of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, and vowed to fulfill the tasks outlined for the new year.

Kim Hwang Ho, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, stated, “We will urgently address shortcomings identified in past operations, strengthen the material and technical foundation of the metallurgical industry, and innovate our economic strategy and management to increase steel production with maximum effort decisively.”

An Guk Heon, Secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Party Committee, declared, “Our provincial party committee will ensure all party organizations are firmly prepared and fully mobilized to achieve the set goals for our units without fail. We will energetically carry out organizational and political work to rally officials, party members, and workers for the struggle ahead.”

Agricultural officials nationwide pledged to “solidify the foundation for stable and sustainable agricultural production.”

Notably, the resolve of education officials, a key topic of discussion at the plenary meeting, was also emphasized.

Ri Chang Sik, Vice Minister of Education, remarked, “The plenary meeting highlighted the priority, necessity, and significance of educational advancement. Officials must work tirelessly as the foremost implementers of party policy, driving substantial transformations in strengthening the education system.”

On Sunday, North Korean media reported the outcomes of the year-end plenary meeting, summarizing the year’s achievements and revealing plans for the coming year. Citizens are expected to study the meeting’s results intensively for some time, fostering an atmosphere of commitment to implementing party decisions.
