On Wednesday at 10:26 p.m., a fire broke out on an Air Busan aircraft preparing for takeoff at the tarmac of Gimhae Airport in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, South Korea. The plane was scheduled to fly to Hong Kong.

All 176 people on board, including 170 passengers and six crew members, evacuated via emergency slides. No casualties were reported due to the fire; however, two individuals sustained minor abrasions during the evacuation and were transported to the hospital.

As the fire, which started in the tail section, spread toward the fuselage, firefighting authorities issued a Level 1 emergency response at approximately 10:38 p.m. 188 firefighters were deployed. The fire was fully extinguished by 11:31 p.m.

The fire caused partial damage to the Air Busan Airbus A321 aircraft (flight BX391).

Fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
