ChatGPT’s latest feature, the AI assistant Operator, revolutionizes digital interactions by allowing users to send gifts through KakaoTalk and book accommodations via Yanolja.

According to industry sources, on Monday, OpenAI partnered with Kakao and Yanolja to expand its AI agent Operator service, which is currently available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers.

Since last Friday, after its research preview launch in North America this January, Operator has expanded to global markets, including South Korea, Australia, the UK, and Japan.

This advanced AI agent acts as a virtual personal assistant, navigating the web on behalf of users to perform tasks such as data entry, clicking and scrolling, streamlining travel bookings, and online shopping experiences.

Users can now access KakaoTalk’s gift-giving feature within the Operator platform. For example, if a user requests, “Buy a bag from Brand A,” the AI independently searches and compares products on the KakaoTalk gift-giving platform before presenting purchase recommendations.

A spokesperson for Kakao confirmed that the company has begun integrating support for KakaoTalk’s gift-giving service with the expansion of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Operator service beyond North America.

Yanolja, a global leader in travel tech, has also partnered with Operator. Leveraging its extensive global database, Yanolja offers comprehensive travel planning services, from curating itineraries to suggesting available hotel accommodations.

The company provides operational solutions to over 1.33 million hotels and travel operators in 206 countries. Its robust big data infrastructure connects more than 20,000 travel sales channels worldwide.

A Yanolja representative stated, “We aim to enhance our services by analyzing diverse insights gathered from user experiences during the research preview phase.”

“Through collaborations with OpenAI and other industry leaders, we are committed to delivering innovative and personalized travel experiences to customers globally,” they added.
