PoliticsRep. Park Ji Won Encourages Han Dong Hoon’s Political Return

On Sunday, Democratic Party lawmaker Park Ji Won announced on social media that he would purchase and read Han Dong Hoon’s Choice—The People Come First to congratulate former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon on his book’s success.

Park reflected on Han’s political journey, noting that while he initially became party leader by championing “the will of the people,” he later aligned himself with President Yoon Suk Yeol’s wishes, ultimately leading to his downfall.

Nevertheless, Park praised Han’s actions during the December 3 insurrection crisis, particularly his opposition to marital law and his success in rallying 18 lawmakers, including the crucial 8 votes, to support it, contributing to Yoon’s impeachment motion.

Looking ahead, Park advised Han to adhere to his “people first” philosophy if he seeks a political comeback. He warned that reverting to a “Yoon Suk Yeol first” approach would lead to another failure.

Park suggested that even with a minority, Han could play a key role in forming a responsible conservative party by breaking ties with insurrection leaders and prioritizing “the will of the people” and “people first” principles. He urged Han to chart a course free from Yoon’s influence and to steer clear of far-right ideologies.
