LG Electronics is expanding its media entertainment platform business in earnest by supplying commercial displays to the home stadium of the Boston Red Sox in the United States.

On Sunday, LG Electronics announced that it had installed a main LED scoreboard measuring 30.5 meters wide by 11.5 meters high, with a total area of 350.75 square meters (approximately 1,280 inches), at Fenway Park in Boston.

In addition, the company configured a comprehensive display solution consisting of 11 different types of signage (displays installed in commercial spaces), including a large ribbon board measuring 21.6 meters wide by 7.9 meters high, with a total area of 171 square meters.

The commercial displays provided are high-resolution products that support HDR technology, which analyzes dark and bright areas in detail to create visuals as delicate as what one sees with the naked eye. They also feature high brightness levels of over 7,000 nits, and waterproof and dustproof capabilities with an IP65 rating, making them suitable for outdoor environments.

LG’s ultra-large LED signage was unveiled last Friday at the Boston Red Sox’s first home game of the season.

LG Electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with ANC, the agency responsible for operating stadiums and managing advertising for Fenway Sports Group, the owner of the Boston Red Sox. Together, they aim to deliver innovative entertainment experiences to sports fans not only in Boston but across various regions of the United States.

By integrating display businesses such as TVs, monitors, and signage under its MS Business Division, LG Electronics is accelerating its efforts to establish a media entertainment platform-based service business targeting global sports fans.

Park Hyoung Se, head of LG Electronics’ MS Business Division, stated that the company is strengthening partnerships with globally renowned sports teams through its innovative commercial displays and customized solutions. He added that LG will enhance the value of customer spaces and provide a differentiated media entertainment experience.
