Synology has unveiled its latest high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) product, the DiskStation DS925+, targeting professionals and businesses needing robust and reliable data management solutions.

The DS925+ is engineered to handle demanding workloads with enhanced processing capabilities. It boasts dual 2.5GbE ports and two M.2 slots for all-flash storage pools or cache configurations, significantly boosting performance compared to its predecessor. Notably, the device achieves impressive speed improvements: a 146% increase in download speeds, 40% in uploads, 131% in read speeds, and 150% in write speeds when using the SMB protocol.

The DS925+ offers scalability through the newly released DX525 expansion unit for businesses facing rapidly growing data needs. This add-on allows users to expand to a maximum of nine drive bays, providing up to 180TB of raw storage capacity.

Designed as an all-in-one system, the DS925+ ensures optimal compatibility and reliability with Synology hard drives. The product’s drive compatibility framework has undergone rigorous testing for over 7,000 hours. During setup, users are required to install compatible drives supported by Synology’s proprietary operating system, DiskStation Manager (DSM).

Jeffrey Huang, Synology’s product manager, highlighted the widespread popularity of the 4-bay Plus series, noting that with over a million units installed, it has become a preferred solution for professionals and businesses. He explained that the line is especially popular as an edge server in remote or branch office environments. Building on this success, he said the new DS925+ delivers business-grade performance and reliability to meet these varied demands.
