OpenAI has rolled back its latest ChatGPT update in response to user complaints about the AI’s overly agreeable responses.

On Tuesday, TechCrunch reported that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced the company is reversing the latest update to GPT-4o and has already implemented the change for free users.

Paid users can expect the same adjustment soon. OpenAI is currently fine-tuning the model’s personality.

The recent ChatGPT update drew criticism for its tendency to be excessively positive and agreeable to all user input.

Social media was quickly flooded with memes showcasing instances where ChatGPT uncritically endorsed even dangerous or unethical opinions. Addressing these concerns, Altman stated they’re working to resolve the issue swiftly and will share their findings.
