Google is testing a new feature called Audio Overviews for search queries, according to TechCrunch.

This innovative feature, first introduced through NotebookLM and the Gemini AI model, offers users voice summaries of their search results. Google believes Audio Overviews will be particularly beneficial for multitaskers and those who prefer voice-based information consumption.

The Audio Overviews feature builds upon Google’s existing AI Overview function, making it especially useful for auditory learners and users who prioritize accessibility.

Currently, this feature is available through Google Labs, the company’s experimental program.

Users can interact with a simple audio player to play, pause, adjust volume, and modify playback speed. Additionally, they have the option to verify the sources of the information presented.
