North Korea has been actively promoting the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist zone, which opened on Tuesday, as tourists continue to flock there daily.

On Thursday, the state-run Rodong Sinmun featured a front-page article titled “Echoes of Laughter Along the East Sea’s Famed Myeongsasimni Beach,” showcasing accounts from residents who visited the site.

The newspaper reported that visitors expressed strong satisfaction, saying they had visited many beaches before, but this was their first time encountering a tourism environment and service that allowed them to enjoy the seaside experience fully.

Page two focused on the achievements of Kim Jong Un, aiming to inspire public loyalty. The paper highlighted the outcomes of regional development policies, noting that the large-scale construction of modern homes in both urban and rural areas was contributing to improvements in people’s welfare.

The third page urged nationwide efforts to fulfill the Five-Year National Economic Development Strategy, which is set to end later this year. The article called for preparations to welcome the upcoming Ninth Party Congress as a Congress of Victors, and for intensified productivity campaigns across all sectors.

On page four, Rodong Sinmun reported that heavy rain warnings had been issued between Thursday and Friday for areas in North Pyongan Province, Chagang Province, and parts of South Pyongan Province. The paper urged local officials to implement thorough safety measures in anticipation of monsoon-related flooding.

Page five highlighted the importance of increasing public attention to the healthcare sector. The article emphasized the need to secure funding and materials for the production of medicines and medical equipment, and called on party officials to implement better systems and discipline.

The sixth page reiterated claims that the United States’ alleged ambitions toward North Korea remained unchanged. It stressed the importance of strengthening national defense capabilities in response to what it described as persistent nuclear threats from the U.S.
