General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Jong Un, has sent a message of condolence to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the recent passenger plane crash in Russia.

The official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Rodong Sinmun, published Kim’s message to Putin on the second page of its July 26 edition.

In his message, Kim stated that he was deeply saddened to learn of the unexpected and tragic news of the passenger plane crash in Amur Oblast, which resulted in dozens of casualties. He further added that on behalf of the government and people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, as well as on his own behalf, he extends his heartfelt condolences to Putin, and through him, to his government, people, and the families of the victims.

He continued that our people share in the sorrow and grief experienced by their fraternal Russian people. He added that he empathizes with the families who have lost their loved ones and hope that the wounds in their hearts will heal quickly.

Kim concluded by saying that he sincerely hopes that under Putin’s leadership, the Russian government and people will courageously overcome this painful loss and swiftly regain peace and stability.
