National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac stated on Wednesday that it appears unlikely for U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary Kim Jong Un to meet during the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit scheduled for late next month in Gyeongju.
During a meeting with the Korea Editors Association at the Korea Press Center in Seoul’s Jung-gu district, Wi remarked it’s difficult to say the possibility is significant.
He added that while it anticipates President Trump’s visit to South Korea, it’s not yet confirmed, and emphasized it should assume that General Secretary Kim is highly unlikely to attend APEC.
