North Korea has announced that a high-level delegation, including Vice Foreign Minister Kim Sun-kyung, has departed to attend the 80th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
The official newspaper of the Workers’ Party, Rodong Sinmun, reported on page 3 on September 26 that the delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, led by Vice Foreign Minister Kim Sun-kyung, left Pyongyang on September 25 to participate in the 80th UN General Assembly session. Their departure appears to be timed with North Korea’s scheduled keynote address on Monday.
On the same page, it was also reported that Wang Yajun, the Chinese ambassador to North Korea, hosted a reception at the embassy on September 25 to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
On page 2, it was announced that Foreign Minister Choe Sun-hui will soon visit China. It also covered news that the credentials of the new Palestinian ambassador to North Korea, sent by the Palestinian president to Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, were presented by Choe Ryung-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly.
The front page highlighted key economic sites, including the Sangwon Cement Joint Enterprise, urging citizens to lead the nationwide production drive and set an example in implementing party decisions.
Page 4 encouraged citizens to intensify the nationwide production campaign and savings movement to meet economic targets. The newspaper featured the Chollima Tile Factory, reporting that it is ramping up tile production for major construction sites through collective innovation.
Page 5 reported that from September 23 to 25, a national scientific and technological conference on educational information was held at Wonsan Ri Su Dok Teacher Training College, discussing the development and implementation of intelligent correction systems and intelligence testing systems.
Page 6 relayed that on September 22, during a Security Council meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia can respond to any strategic threat, asserting that Russia is confident in its deterrence capabilities through military-technical measures, not just words.
