GE Healthcare Korea announced on Wednesday that it conducted a webinar on Latest Guidelines and Clinical Applications for Neonatal Resuscitation for perinatal medical professionals nationwide on January 15, commemorating the 9th revision of neonatal resuscitation guidelines.

The webinar featured Professor Shim Kyu-hong from the Department of Pediatrics at Inje University Sanggye Paik Hospital, a member of the Korean Society of Neonatology’s Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) committee. His lecture focused on key considerations for practical clinical application in delivery rooms and initial newborn care settings.

These guidelines can be applied in various clinical environments that utilize equipment such as GE Healthcare’s infant warming devices and neonatal and pediatric ventilators. The webinar was praised for helping medical staff better understand how to implement these guidelines in real-world scenarios.

The perinatal period, which spans from late pregnancy through childbirth to the initial phase after birth, is a critical medical domain that significantly impacts the lives and outcomes of both mothers and newborns.

Dr. Park Eun-ae, president of the Korean Society of Perinatology, emphasized that the perinatal period is a complex and crucial time that requires simultaneous consideration of maternal and neonatal safety. Healthcare providers’ understanding and proficiency in the latest guidelines greatly influence treatment outcomes. She added that events like this, where it shares cutting-edge insights on neonatal resuscitation guidelines with experts and discuss their practical application, are invaluable in elevating the quality of perinatal care in the nation.
