Waycen, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) medtech firm, announced on Wednesday that it will unveil the latest version of its cutting-edge endoscope, Waymed Endo, at the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES 2026). The four-day event is set to take place at Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul from March 19 to 22.

Waymed Endo, Waycen’s AI-powered endoscope, has been gaining traction in the AI-based endoscopic examination market. It’s currently in use at several prestigious medical institutions, including Ewha Womans University Medical Center and Gangnam Severance Hospital.

This innovative medical device integrates seamlessly with gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment. It employs artificial intelligence to detect abnormal lesions in real-time during examinations, promptly alerting endoscopists. This feature significantly aids in identifying subtle or easily overlooked lesions, thereby enhancing the accuracy and quality of endoscopic procedures.

Since introducing Korea’s first AI endoscopy software in 2022, Waycen has rapidly established a strong presence in hospitals, pioneering new trends in endoscopy.

At KIMES 2026, Waycen plans to showcase an enhanced version of Waymed Endo. The updated model will incorporate new features such as appendiceal recognition and procedure time tracking, collectively known as CADq. These additions aim to not only improve lesion detection but also boost overall endoscopic quality.

The company will also offer pre-consultation services for medical facilities considering AI endoscope adoption, with in-depth discussions scheduled during the exhibition. This initiative aligns with the growing trend of AI endoscope implementation in healthcare institutions worldwide, as Waycen seeks to expand its hospital partnerships through this event.

Waymed Endo’s clinical value has been further validated through various research presentations at domestic and international endoscopy conferences. At a recent meeting of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology, Dr. Bae Kang-nam from Seon Internal Medicine shared his clinical experiences with Waymed Endo. Dr. Bae, renowned for his high adenoma detection rate (ADR) and operating an acclaimed endoscopy center in Songpa, reported that the introduction of Waymed Endo significantly boosted colonoscopy ADR, surpassing global benchmarks and affirming the system’s clinical efficacy.

Waycen is also making strides in the global market. The company recently conducted a successful live demonstration of Waymed Endo at an international conference in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), garnering substantial interest from international medical professionals. Waycen is actively expanding its partnerships across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Thailand, as well as in Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, solidifying its position in the global AI endoscopy market.

A spokesperson for Waycen stated that AI endoscopy is emerging as a new gold standard, enhancing examination quality and supporting medical professionals in diagnosis. They added that at KIMES this year, it aims to showcase the advanced features of Waymed Endo and highlight the clinical value and potential of AI endoscopy to healthcare professionals and institutions worldwide.

During KIMES 2026, Waycen will be exhibiting at booth #610 in Hall C of COEX. The company will offer product demonstrations and consultations for medical professionals interested in adopting AI endoscopy technology.
